Moving accounts in

Accounts › Import › New import brings accounts from another server: websites, databases, mail (with passwords where the old server allows it), DNS records, certificates, cron jobs and FTP logins together. The old server is only read, never changed.

From How
cPanel / WHM a cpmove backup file — live over SSH as root — or live over the WHM API with a root or reseller token (no root SSH needed)
CentOS Web Panel (CWP) live with a CWP API key — or from a CWP account backup
CyberPanel live over SSH as root — or from one website's backup file
Webuzo live over SSH as root — live over the Webuzo API with an API key (Webuzo › API Keys; the administrator's key reads every account, an account's own key that account) — or from a Backuply backup file
Another BHPanel server live with an API token from it (only Read and Export ticked) — or an export file made there

How an import goes

  1. New import: choose the old panel, then how.
  2. Check: the panel reads everything first and shows what it found — and anything that would not fit, such as a domain already on this server. Nothing is imported until you have seen the check. The first time it connects, confirm the old server's SSH key or certificate fingerprint.
  3. Import: pick the accounts and the plan each gets here. The progress and the result of every step are shown, account by account.

Passwords that cannot be carried over are reset and listed under New passwords.

Importing while it reads (many accounts)

From a saved server, tick Import each account as soon as it is read before you press Check. Each account then goes in while the next one is still being copied, so 200 accounts do not wait for the last copy. Each one gets the plan of its old plan's name here, or Default when there is none. An account that needs a decision (shown in red), and resellers with their customers, wait on the check page for you; press Import for those when you have fixed them. Only a few accounts' copies are on the disk at any time.

Whole servers and folders

  • Plans come too: cPanel and CyberPanel packages are imported as plans, with their limits - and Webuzo's, when the import uses an administrator's API key.
  • Resellers come over as resellers, with their own customers and plans.
  • A whole folder at once: copy every account backup into /root/import and use Read every file in /root/import.

Resellers import their own customers

Under Customers › Import accounts, a reseller can bring its customers from cPanel (a WHM reseller token is enough), CentOS Web Panel, CyberPanel, Webuzo or BHPanel — always onto its own plans, inside its own disk pool.

After the import

Each site goes live here only when its domain's DNS points at this server. Move the nameservers (or the A records) when you are ready; until then the old server keeps answering.
